The Production Assistant has the following responsibilities:
Provide support to seamstresses to make work more efficient,
Ensure that the production line is kept up to speed.
Folding curtains or other work in progress.
May be called upon to do inspection, packing and other tasks related to the department.
40-hour shift Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Fridays 7 a.m. to noon. Lunch break from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m.
Skills required
- Be meticulous, rigorous, flexible, resourceful and versatile
- Team player
- Attention to detail
- Ability to sew by hand and use an iron are assets
- Know how to use a tape measure and know your measurements (metre, yard, inches, etc.)
- Ability to read, write and count
- Good manual skills and speed of execution
- Be in good physical condition
- Good eyesight and color recognition skills
- Ability to work in a standing position
- Ability to lift weights within limits
