The sewing machine operator has the following responsibilities:
- Check his/her order (look at the order description);
- Make sure there are no imperfections in the fabrics, and if so, notify his/her superior;
- Sew the pieces as required by the order and make sure the “match” is right;
- Assemble pieces on single machine and overlock or blind edge;
- Record times on jobs.
Do you know how to: Operate a Simple and Overlock (3-thread and 5-thread) sewing machine? Operate a Blindstich machine? It’s an asset!

Joining Textiles Patlin means becoming part of the family!
40-hour schedule over 4 1/2 days, Monday to Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, 7 a.m. to noon. Lunch break from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m.
Possibility of 35 hours over 4 days.
Skills required
- Sewing training or relevant work experience
- Know how to operate a Simple and Overlock (3-thread and 5-thread) sewing machine
- Know how to handle manual scissors and thread cutters
- Know how to use a tape measure and its measurements (metre, yard, inches, etc.)
- Good manual skills and speed of execution
- Ability to read, write and count
- Be in good physical condition:
- Have good vision and be able to recognize colors
- Be able to lift weights within the permitted limits.
